  •  Classes run for 50 weeks of the year, with 2 weeks break at Christmas. The minimum requirement is that members must attend for 85% of the classes in order to grade for their next belt. The Sensei’s of the club are responsible for the pre-tests and monitoring attendance.

  • The philosophy of the club is to build a community of people of all age, race and decree so that they can come together and learn martial arts.  Members are encouraged to push their limits in training and to achieve beyond the best that they can.

  • The training is about building stamina, self-discipline, building confidence and supporting the community. Heiwa's  motto is no one gets left behind.

  • Members range from age 5 to 60.

  • Parents are allowed to stay and watch the class or if preferred, they can drop the children off and collect once class is finished.

  • All adult members of the club are Garda vetted.

  • The code of ethics in the club should be brought to members attention. The club has their own set of Child Protection club policies and procedures that is emailed to parents.

  • In all of the junior classes, in addition to the Sensei, there is at least one other adult member in attendance. Children are not allowed to leave the Dojo without an adult. Parents must pick them up at the door.

  • Family membership is encouraged.
  • Old members are always welcome back.
